Hours of Service Awards
In an effort to recognize public lands volunteers at every level, Take Pride in America has joined with USA Freedom Corps to expand its current awards program. Volunteers who have reached the hours of service levels specified below can be nominated by their supervisor.
Presidential Volunteer Service Bronze Award - 100-249 volunteer hours
Presidential Volunteer Service Silver Award - 250-499 volunteer hours
Presidential Volunteer Service Gold Award - 500-999 volunteer hours
Take Pride Bronze Award 1,000 volunteer hours
Take Pride Silver Award 2,000 volunteer hours
Take Pride Gold Award 2,500 volunteer hours
Secretarial Volunteer Service Award 3,000 volunteer hours

Recognizing volunteers for their time and efforts is fundamental to Take Pride in America. A simple ‘thank you’ not only acknowledges their service, but inspires volunteers to continue in caring for our public lands. Through the National Awards program and Hours of Service Awards, volunteer coordinators and managers can easily honor individuals and groups for their stewardship.
National AwardsPresented annually, National Awards recognize specific volunteer efforts in several categories. These awards, given for outstanding stewardship of public lands, honor those who protect or enhance our public parks, forests, grasslands, wildlife refuges, cultural and historical sites, playgrounds or other recreation areas. Nominations must reflect actual, measurable accomplishments achieved through volunteer service. To be eligible, projects must be "on the ground" activities rather than advocacy in any form. Self-nominations are accepted. Nominations are due by the end of April and winners are selected by a panel of judges. In July, National Award winners are honored at a ceremony in Washington, DC, where their family and friends are invited to join us. |
