At the White House Easter Egg Roll

The White House welcomed Take Pride in America volunteers as special guests at the annual White House Easter Egg Roll, and a senior White House official honored one outstanding Take Pride in America volunteer with the President’s Volunteer Service Award. The award was presented by White House Council on Environmental Quality Chairman Jim Connaughton.

The educational theme for this year’s Easter Egg Roll was “Ocean Conservation,” highlighting the President’s and First Lady’s commitment to improving our oceans, coasts, and great lakes. Take Pride in America was among several organizations invited based on a commitment to mobilizing youth in ocean conservation. Click here to read the White House's fact sheet on Ocean Conservation.

One of the best parts of the day for us, was when Mrs. Bush acknowledged Take Pride in America during her opening remarks, which you can read here. Overall, it was a great day for everyone, and we enjoyed spending it with many of our special guest Take Pride in America volunteers, that honored us by their presence. In case you missed it, you can check out more of the pictures on our blog, or read the full press release.
