(Houston, Texas) - Today, Take Pride in America® met with a previous national award winner, Holy Trinity Episcopal Middle School, to recognize them for their commitment and efforts on behalf of the Take Pride program. Take Pride joined Holy Trinity Episcopal for a tour of Jesse Jones State Park, where the school has spent the majority of their time focusing on rebuilding and enhancing the park.
"Holy Trinity Episcopal Middle School fully embodies what it means to be a Take Pride in America School," said Katie Loovis, Executive Director, Take Pride in America. "Take Pride is proud to partner with Holy Trinity in encouraging schools to promote youth volunteerism on our shared lands."
The meeting today between Take Pride and Holy Trinity Episcopal was the first stop on Take Pride's "VolunTour Across America". The VolunTour involves Take Pride hitting the road with its sponsor Toyota, for a three week trip through ten states featuring service-related events with local and national partners across the country.
"As we begin our VolunTour through the southern states, we look forward to working closely with partners from all over, as well as beginning new partnerships in each of our stops," said Loovis. "Joining hands, one by one, our grassroots volunteers are the heart and soul of the Take Pride in America program, and we?re on the road now with Toyota to fan that flame of service."
