| Take Pride in America® joins Travelocity employees for cleanup event at Lake Grapevine |
(Dallas, Texas) –
This weekend, Take Pride in America® will join with hundreds of Sabre Holdings/Travelocity employees, and the city of Grapevine, for a Family and Nature Day volunteer and education event at Lake Grapevine. Volunteers will fan out around the lake in a variety of tasks, working to enhance and clean up the area.
“Take Pride is excited to once again team up with Sabre Holdings/Travelocity, one of our strongest partners,” said Katie Loovis, Executive Director, Take Pride in America. “The more than 100 Travelocity employees coming out to volunteer on Saturday represent the best of America, and epitomize the ideal of corporate social responsibility.”
The event is the grand kickoff for Take Pride in America’s “VolunTour Across America,” as well as Sabre Holdings’ global employee volunteer week. The VolunTour involves Take Pride hitting the road with its sponsor Toyota, for a three week trip involving seven states and local and national partners across the country, to promote volunteerism on public lands.
“As we begin our VolunTour through the southern states, we look forward to working closely with partners from all over, as well as beginning new partnerships in each of our stops,” said Loovis. “Joining hands, one by one, our grassroots volunteers are the heart and soul of the Take Pride in America program, and we’re on the road now with Toyota to fan that flame of service.”
Take Pride in America is a national partnership program aimed at increasing volunteer service on America’s public lands.
